Devil’s Head Lookout
Location: Colorado
Located between Denver and Colorado Springs, this is a great spot for a sunrise hike. The hike is a steady climb up to the base of a rock formation where you can spot the fire lookout built up on top. You climb some metal stairs and suddenly you have an amazing 360 degree view.
Upon arriving, I was lucky enough to have a stunningly clear sunrise followed by mesmerizing clouds in the valleys below. The lookout is over 50 years old and is one of the original towers in the Front Range still in use today. I highly recommend this quick trip out of Denver to experience it.
